Off Leash Dog Park Pilot Project

Parks and Recreation

At the Sarnia City Council meeting on September 12, 2016 Council approved the off leash “Pilot” Dog Park to be located in Germain Park.

May 1, 2017 the Germain dog park opened as a pilot project for one year with support from the Sarnia Off Leash Dog Park Committee to assist with educating users regarding proper public dog park etiquette and safety.

As the pilot project approaches the end of one year, staff is gathering information for the development of a final report to Sarnia City Council which will include a recommendation for the future of the dog park. Part of this data will be collected through an online survey. The survey will be available online for thirty days.

If you do not wish to complete the survey, but want your comments to be considered by council please send your comments via email to by March 30 2018.
